William C. "Will" Ballard is a Member in the Firm's Charleston, West Virginia, office. Mr. Ballard's practice focuses primarily on commercial bankruptcies.
Before joining the Firm, Mr. Ballard served as a law clerk to two judges of the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia: District Judge David A. Faber and District Judge Thomas E. Johnston. In addition, he previously practiced commercial and tax litigation at a Washington, D.C., law firm and at a Charleston law firm.
Mr. Ballard currently serves on the Bankruptcy Committee of the West Virginia State Bar. He was President of the Kanawha County Bar Association for the 2008‑2009 term and was President of the Judge John A. Field, Jr. American Inn of Court for the 2010‑2011 term. Mr. Ballard is also a member of Mountaineer Athletic Club and The University of North Carolina Educational Foundation (Rams Club).
Mr. Ballard graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in economics. During that time, he received the Bell Atlantic Award for Economics and was named a West Virginia University Foundation Outstanding Senior. He received his Juris Doctor and graduated with honors from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law where he served on the National Moot Court Team and was awarded The Order of Barristers.
