Jeffrey R. Soukup is an associate in the Firm’s Lexington, Kentucky, office. He practices in the areas of general litigation, appellate litigation, workers' compensation and federal black lung claims.
Prior to joining Jackson Kelly, Mr. Soukup served as a law clerk to the Honorable John M. Rogers of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, as well as to the Honorable Karen K. Caldwell of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. He previously practiced general litigation at the Lexington, Kentucky, office of Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love LLP.
Mr. Soukup received his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in May 2007. He graduated magna cum laude and was admitted to the Order of the Coif. During law school, Mr. Soukup served as the Managing Editor of the Kentucky Law Journal, was selected for publication in the Journal’s 2006‑2007 volume and was awarded the Stoll Keenon and Park Scholarship for Outstanding Service to the Journal.
Mr. Soukup graduated with Highest Honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana‑Champaign in May 2004, earning the degree of Bachelor of Science in finance. During his undergraduate years, Mr. Soukup was inducted into three national honor societies, including the prestigious Beta Gamma Sigma international business honor society.
