Timothy E. Huffman is a Member in the Firm's Charleston, West Virginia, office where he practices with the Administrative Practice Group.
Mr. Huffman's practice is focused on representing employers and insurance carriers in the area of work‑related disability caused by occupational injury and disease. Mr. Huffman also represents clients in matters before the West Virginia Office of the Insurance Commissioner and the Industrial Council.
Mr. Huffman is also a member of the Firm's Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs Practice Group and is an active lobbyist at the West Virginia Legislature on workers' compensation, insurance and civil justice reform issues. He is often called upon to assist clients and employer organizations in legislative bill drafting and review and the revision and drafting of administrative rules.
Mr. Huffman is the past Chairman of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce and past Chairman of its Workers' Compensation Committee and has been recognized in West Virginia workers' compensation law by the publication, The Best Lawyers in America®. He is a frequent lecturer on workers' compensation law and authored "A Guide to Self‑Insurance Under the West Virginia Workers' Compensation System," 96 W.Va. Law Review 3, 1994.
Mr. Huffman completed his undergraduate training at Marshall University where he graduated with a degree in political science in 1977. He studied law at West Virginia University and graduated from the West Virginia University College of Law in 1980. He was admitted to the West Virginia State Bar that same year. He is admitted to practice before the West Virginia Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
