Marcia Allen Broughton is a Member of the Firm practicing in the Tax Practice Group. Prior to joining the Firm in 2003, she was a member of the law firm of Johnson, Simmerman & Broughton, L.C. in Clarksburg, West Virginia.

Ms. Broughton graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and majored in accounting. In 1979, she became a Certified Public Accountant. She also received her Juris Doctor in 1979 from West Virginia University College of Law. In 1983, she received her LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. Ms. Broughton's practice is concentrated in the areas of estate planning, tax planning and business practices.

Ms. Broughton has served as chair for the West Virginia State Bar Committee on State and Federal Taxation and is a former president of the West Virginia Tax Institute. She has served as an adjunct professor at West Virginia University College of Law teaching corporate tax II and estate and gift tax.

Ms. Broughton is a member of the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and a fellow in the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel. She is a frequent speaker at continuing education programs for the West Virginia State Bar, as well as various business and accounting organizations. Ms. Broughton is currently serving as a member of the Board and Secretary of the West Virginia University Foundation, Inc.
