Thad S. Huffman is a retired Member and Of Counsel resident in the Firm's Washington, D.C., office. Mr. Huffman has a broad-based federal administrative and energy and natural resources practice with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and enforcement matters. He also has a comprehensive business/transactional practice focusing on commercial agreements, business litigation and government contracts. 

Mr. Huffman is a member of the District of Columbia and West Virginia Bars. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth, Fifth, District of Columbia and Federal Circuits; the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia; the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia; and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

Mr. Huffman is a graduate of the University of Denver where he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1974 and his Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in business administration in 1977. He received his Juris Doctor in 1984 from West Virginia University College of Law, where he was an editor of the West Virginia Law Review and the Journal of College and University Law.

Mr. Huffman is a member of the American Bar Association, the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and the Independent Petroleum Association of America.
