M. Jane Brannon is Counsel in the Commercial Law Practice Group of the Firm's Lexington, Kentucky, office.  Ms. Brannon has focused her practice in litigation since graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1995 and is a capable and experienced litigator in state and federal courts throughout Kentucky.  As attested to by her AV Peer Review Rating, she is well-known and respected among the judiciary and plaintiff and defense bars.

Ms. Brannon has handled a wide range of litigation matters for a number of the nation’s largest businesses, including auto and trucking accidents, premises liability, homeowner’s liability, equine mortality insurance, professional liability insurance for nursing homes and resident care facilities and many other claims covered by insurance policies.  She has asserted and defended numerous motions for declaratory judgment regarding complex issues of coverage, such as scope of employment and the application of the laws of other states.  In addition, she has fifteen years of experience in analyzing thorny coverage issues and providing thorough and insightful opinions to insurers and has extensive experience in defending claims for common law bad faith and alleged violations of the Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act. 

Ms. Brannon's experience extends to the defense under ERISA of numerous claims for benefits under health and disability policies for a variety of carriers.  She also handles Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act litigation matters statewide for one of the nation's largest consumer credit reporting agencies.
