Elizabeth B. Elmore is a Member of the Firm and the Commercial Law Practice Group. She is also Leader of the Firm's Oil and Gas Industry Group. With more than 20 years of legal experience, including several years as in-house counsel for an oil and gas production company, Ms. Elmore focuses her practice on energy law, representing both large and small oil and gas producers. She is a frequent speaker on issues related to oil and gas.

Specific examples of Ms. Elmore’s experience include:
 

  • Overseeing acquisition due diligence and title projects in West Virginia and Ohio
  • Advising oil and gas producers on title and curative issues
  • Advising clients on royalty calculation issues in the Appalachian Basin
  • Drafting and reviewing oil and gas agreements - joint ventures, exploration agreements, joint operating agreements, farm-outs, leases, subleases, deeds, rights of ways, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements
  • Advising clients on permitting for oil and gas wells and pipeline systems


Prior to joining Jackson Kelly, Ms. Elmore served as General Counsel and Land Manager for Reed Brothers Limited Partnership, an oil and gas company based in Charleston, West Virginia. She was also the Managing Partner of Elmore and Elmore.

Ms. Elmore received her Bachelor of Arts in politics, summa cum laude, from Converse College in 1989 and her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, f rom Washington and Lee University School of  Law in 1992. She is licensed to practice law in West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio.
