Christopher K. Robertson is a Member in the Firm's Martinsburg, West Virginia, office. Mr. Robertson joined the Firm in 1992, after receiving his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and was a member of the school's National Moot Court Team. His practice has always focused on the representation of defendants in trial and appellate litigation in both state and federal courts with emphases on personal injury, product liability, professional negligence, lender liability and commercial litigation.

Mr. Robertson is a member of the Defense Research Institute and Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia. Admitted to practice law in West Virginia and Maryland, Mr. Robertson is also a member of the West Virginia State Bar and the Maryland State Bar and has been admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

  • Defending client against lending institution which refused to honor commercial loan commitments
  • Defending numerous cases alleging predatory lending, inflated home appraisals and loan processing or servicing errors
  • Defending numerous cases alleging violations of the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Truth in Lending Act
  • Representing automobile dealers and manufacturers against claims of fraud, breach of consumer warranties and violation of state lemon laws
  • Representing both builders and manufacturers of manufactured housing against claims arising from alleged defects in home construction
  • Defending lending institution in bankruptcy court adversary proceeding where customer challenged $2,000,000 loan
  • Defending companies in numerous claims and suits involving claims of fraud and breach of consumer warranties
  • Defending banking institutions, automobile dealerships, manufacturers and retailers of manufactured housing against various consumer claims
  • Defending clients against investigations by and litigation with the State Attorney General regarding alleged violations of consumer protection laws
  • Defending clients in litigation regarding Articles 2, 2A, 3, 4 and 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code
  • Representing numerous attorneys against claims of professional negligence, legal malpractice and fraud
  • Defending law firm accused on legal malpractice on claim which exceeded $1,000,000
  • Arguing before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals case in which court rewrote the tort statute of limitations in West Virginia
  • Representing employers in deliberate intent claims arising from allegedly catastrophic injuries to employees
  • Representing an international manufacturer against claims alleging that adjacent landowners and their properties were exposed to harmful chemicals
  • Representing Fortune 100 company against its insurer on a claim for coverage of mold in commercial office building
