Hurney Completes Year as President of the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys

Tom Hurney completed his year as President of the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys (ADTA) at the group’s Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas, April 18-22, 2018.  During his term as President, the ADTA expanded its social media presence, engaged sponsors for its annual meeting for the first time and continued its focus on diversity in its membership and leadership. The Austin meeting featured timely and innovative CLE on the Attorney Client privilege, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Vehicles.  Joseph Coughlin, Director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology AgeLab, spoke on “Emerging Trends & Public Trust in Genetics, Robotics, IT &  Nano Technologies” and the meeting was capped by his talk on the Longevity Economy.  Also featured was “It’s Not What You Say, But How You Say It,” by nationally renowned voice coach Eliza Schneider. The ADTA is a select group of trial lawyers whose membership is limited to one lawyer in any city with population of up to one million people. Tom, a member since 1992, will now serve as the ADTA Immediate Past President and continue as a Board member for DRI, The Voice of the Defense Bar.
