Jackson Kelly Attorney Chairs DRI 2018 Annual Meeting in San Francisco

October 8, 2018

Danielle Waltz, Member of Jackson Kelly, is serving as the Chair of DRI’s 2018 Annual Meeting. The meeting will be October 17-21, at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis, San Francisco, CA. Over 1,000 attorneys from around the U.S. and Canada are expected to attend.

Working with DRI’s President Elect Toyja Kelley, Waltz and the annual meeting steering committee fulfilled the vision of creating an event that provides education focused in the areas of diversity, technology and leadership.

“I appreciate the vision and leadership of President Elect Kelley. He challenged our steering committee to create a program showcasing diversity, technology and leadership in the law. I view my experience as Chair as an invaluable opportunity to work with President Elect Kelley and our steering committee, made up of attorneys from all over the country,” said Waltz. “DRI always puts on top notch programming for attorneys around the world, so the bar is high. The upcoming 2018 conference is a source of pride for me and the steering committee, and I cannot wait to experience it all come together.”

The five-day program includes spectacular keynote speakers, cutting-edge CLE presentations, and numerous networking events. Highlights include technology, social media, an inside view of the Supreme Court, and keynote remarks from leading experts on the changing legal landscape in the U.S. and abroad.

West Virginia will be well represented at the meeting not only by Waltz, but also by Elbert Lin, former Solicitor General of West Virginia, Marc Williams, WV Managing Member of Nelson Mullins and past DRI president, and several other attorneys from across the state. Lin will be a panel speaker discussing “Behind the Velvet Curtain: The Supreme Court from the Perspective of the Clerks”. In addition, Jackson Kelly is co-sponsoring the attendance of Stephenee Raychel Gandee and Allyson R. Chandler, two students attending West Virginia University’s College of Law.
