Jackson Kelly’s Oil & Gas Team is Growing

Two new additions have joined Jackson Kelly PLLC’s Oil & Gas team. Leah LaFramboise and Katie Monroe have joined the Firm’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Charleston, West Virginia offices, respectively. Leah and Katie bring years of experience in representing the oil and gas industry in legal and regulatory matters.
In welcoming them, Managing Member Ellen Cappellanti said, “We are thrilled to have Leah and Katie join our ranks and expand our oil and gas team. We strive to provide our clients with superior representation, and the addition of attorneys of this caliber will ensure we continue to meet this goal.”
Leah has substantial experience in both the law firm setting and “in-house” at a large exploration and production company. She routinely counsels clients on transactional matters as they relate to oil and gas title issues and opinions. She also advises on matters involving oil and gas leasing and development, and renders title opinions. Additionally, Leah provides due diligence for large lease and mineral acquisitions. She received her law degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and bachelor’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania.
Katie joins Jackson Kelly after acquiring years of industry experience in land management and energy. She has a strong background in land administration, natural gas interstate pipelines, land rights acquisition (including storage fields), farm tap obligations, landowner dispute resolution, oil and gas lease and easement negotiations, due diligence and lease review, divestitures, curative title work, certified mineral title opinions, and partition and condemnation actions. Additionally, she has managed the complex research and interpretation of company land rights, and capital expansion and modernization projects. Katie was recognized as a West Virginia Super Lawyers® Rising Star in 2014 for Oil and Gas. Katie received her law degree from West Virginia University, and a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia.
