Three Jackson Kelly Lexington Attorneys Named to 2022 Kentucky Super Lawyers List; One Named Rising Star

Jackson Kelly PLLC is pleased to announce that three of the Firm's attorneys in the Lexington office have been named as 2022 Kentucky Super Lawyers, a designation for attorneys who have achieved a significant level of peer recognition and professional achievement.

The attorneys and their recognized practice areas are as follows:

   Robert F. Duncan, Member (Medical Malpractice: Defense)   

   John W. Hays, Member (Construction Litigation: Business)

   Catherine S. Wright, Counsel (Equine Industry group: Defense)

In addition, one attorney has been recognized as a Rising Star. To be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less. 

   Michael G. Erena, Associate (Health Care: Litigation)

Duncan practices in the Litigation Practice Group. He represents clients in a wide variety of civil litigation including the defense of doctors, hospitals and other healthcare providers in medical professional liability actions; complex insurance issues; products liability; and construction. He also regularly serves as a mediator in civil litigation matters.

Hays focuses on construction litigation, contracts and commercial litigation. He has extensive training and experience as a mediator in construction, commercial, employment and personal injury disputes and is on the CPR Regional Panel of Neutrals. Hays also serves as an arbitrator and is on the Commercial Arbitration Panel for the American Arbitration Association. He also serves on the Firm's Executive Committee.

Wright is Counsel in the Litigation Practice Group and Equine Industry Group focusing primarily on labor and employment litigation. Catherine is also highly experienced defending employers before federal and state agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Kentucky Human Rights Commission and other state fair employment practice (FEP) agencies.

Erena, who was named one of the 2022 Kentucky Rising Stars, focuses on all stages of litigation practicing in the Health Care Industry Group. Erena's litigation practice is ever-expanding and evolving across a variety of industries and disciplines. He particularly enjoys the challenge of tailoring the best strategy for each client's unique needs and goals, both inside and outside the courtroom.

Only the top 5 percent of lawyers in Kentucky are named Super Lawyers. While up to five percent of the lawyers in the state are named to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list.
