Jason L. Ott is a Member of the Firm and Chair of the Tech & Data practice group, focusing primarily on business law, bankruptcy/insolvency work, and commercial restructuring. He practices out of the Firm's office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Jason enjoys analyzing and providing guidance to his clients on multiple corporate, strategic, regulatory compliance, and data-related matters, with a specific focus and wealth of knowledge and experience in the tech sector and emerging technologies. Jason has built a strong network in the tech sector, both in the Pittsburgh area and nationally, which enables him to connect many individuals and businesses with an emphasis on growth and relationship building for his clients. Through this work, he consults with clients on daily business and legal matters as an advisor, including drafting various business contracts, purchase and sale agreements, general commercial agreements, vendor agreements, and related documentation. Jason's clients can rest assured that they will receive complex and comprehensive legal services.
Jason also has extensive experience in representing clients in commercial bankruptcy matters and assisting lenders in loan due diligence, documentation, and facilitation, including distressed asset funding and subsequent workout and debt collection involving real estate and hard asset-based lending. Additionally, Jason regularly assists clients in forming nonprofit organizations, helping them to obtain tax-exempt status, and counseling them on corporate governance, commercial, and transactional matters.
