Jeffrey R. Soukup is an Associate in the Business Law industry group, focusing primarily on litigation and appellate work. He practices out of the Firm’s office in Lexington, Kentucky.
As Jeffrey grows his practice, he is focusing on areas of general litigation, appellate litigation, workers' compensation, and federal black lung claims. He’s a pro at writing appellate briefs and presenting oral arguments on behalf of his clients – and it helps that he loves doing it. Jeffrey is more experienced in a courtroom than most associates, thanks to serving as a law clerk to the Honorable John M. Rogers of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, as well as to the Honorable Karen K. Caldwell of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
More than just an attorney, Jeffrey is a confirmed Civil War buff and self-described comic book nerd. He’s a Kentucky transplant and very proud to be the first lawyer in his family. While in law school at the University of Kentucky, he served as the managing editor of the Kentucky Jaw Journal, was selected for publication in the Journal’s 2006-2007 volume, and was awarded the prestigious Stoll Keenon and Park Scholarship for Outstanding Service to the Journal.
Jeffrey graduated with highest honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During his undergraduate years, Jeffrey was inducted into three national honor societies, including the prestigious Beta Gamma Sigma international business honor society.
