Nicole C. Johns is an Associate in the Financial Services and Health Care industry groups, focusing primarily on mergers and acquisitions. She practices out of the Firm’s office in Charleston, West Virginia.
Nicole has a well-rounded practice, but primarily focuses her practice on corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, general commercial matters, and health care compliance and regulatory matters. She has represented various clients in mergers and acquisitions, taking the lead on large due diligence review and analysis. She has recently focused her transactional experience in the health care field for clients ranging from small medical practices to hospitals. Currently serving as general counsel to a local nonprofit organization, Nicole is experienced in advising clients on corporate governance and other legal matters. Nicole also has commercial litigation experience in the bankruptcy court, where she has represented bankruptcy debtors, creditors, trustees, and other parties in interest in Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
Nicole joined the Firm in 2016 after she earned her law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2016. During her last semester of law school, Nicole was an extern for the Honorable Judge Irene M. Keeley in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia. While in law school, Nicole served as an Associate Editor of the West Virginia Law Review and Vice President of the Community Service Counsel. She also served as a research assistant for David C. Hardesty, Jr., President Emeritus and Professor of Law at West Virginia University. In this position, she aided in the researching and writing of his article, Introduction to Bill Drafting in West Virginia, which was published on the West Virginia Law Review Online.
