Ross J. Watzman is Counsel in the Energy and Mining Law industry groups, focusing primarily on occupational safety and health, and labor and employment. He practices out of the Firm’s office in Denver, Colorado.
For energy and extraction clients, Ross is a dream come true – a lawyer who also understands the mechanics of their business. Before graduating from law school, Ross earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biological resource engineering from the University of Maryland in 2007, which allows him to tackle his clients' issues from multiple angles.
Ross finds he often leverages his engineering background to understand and address clients' legal questions. He advises clients on a range of issues, including health and safety laws and regulations at the federal and state levels. He frequently counsels clients facing government investigations. Ross has experience with administrative appeals, complex litigation, and settlement negotiations.
Outside the office, Ross is involved in Denver Active 20-30, a non-profit that raises money for disadvantaged children through annual fund-raising events and projects.
