Valerie F. Gainer is an Associate practicing with the Banking and Financial Services industry groups, focusing primarily on trusts and estates and tax. She practices out of the Firm's office in Charleston, West Virginia.
Valerie is detail-oriented, organized, and determined. She routinely employs these qualities to serve clients with estate administration and estate planning needs. Valerie enjoys researching and learning about complicated legal issues in order to strategize potential solutions for clients with unique or complex legal questions.
Valerie joined the Firm in 2018. Raised in Parkersburg, West Virginia, she graduated summa cum laude from Marietta College in 2013, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in English and political science and a Certificate in Leadership from the McDonough Center for Leadership and Business. After college, Valerie attended The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, earning her law degree in 2016. During law school, she served as a Managing Editor of the Ohio State Criminal Law Journal from 2015-2016, Vice President of Dispute Resolution and Youth from 2014-2015, and as a Judicial Extern for Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor of the Supreme Court of Ohio in the fall of 2014. Valerie also gained valuable, real-world experience during law school by participating in the Mediation Clinic and the Civil Law Clinic.
In her free time, Valerie enjoys visiting zoos, eating sushi, going to the movies, and playing with her cat (who loves fetch).
