Do you have more than 20 employees in one of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (“OSHA”) listed industries? Or, do you have more than 250 employees at one of your establishments where you keep OSHA logs? Have you submitted your 300a summary to OSHA? If not, do not worry as OSHA has extended the deadline to accept 2016 OSHA Form 300a data through midnight on December 31, 2017. OSHA will not issue enforcement actions against any employer who submits their reports after December 15, 2017, but before December 31, 2017. After December 31, 2017, OSHA’s website will no longer accept 2016 data.

Note that the following OSHA-approved State Plans have not yet adopted the requirement to submit injury and illness reports electronically: CA, MD, MN, SC, UT, WA and WY. Establishments in these states are not currently required to submit their summary data through OSHA’s recordkeeping website. Similarly, state and local government establishments in IL, ME, NJ, and NY are not currently required to submit their data through OSHA’s recordkeeping website.
