Bio
Sarah brings a broad range of litigation experience to Jackson Kelly, representing clients in complex civil litigation matters, including data breach and privacy litigation in federal and state courts. Her experience includes developing litigation strategies, drafting briefs and motions, and handling complex matters across multiple jurisdictions.
As a law clerk in the Southern District of West Virginia, Sarah developed strong skills in persuasive writing, complex case analysis, and legal research. She handled cases from initiation to final disposition, preparing draft opinions on discovery disputes, dispositive motions, pre- and post-trial motions, as well as jury instructions and verdict forms. In her two years as a law clerk, she assisted the court in trying four cases to verdict.
Outside of trial preparation, Sarah managed diverse dockets that included criminal matters involving controlled substance offenses, firearms, sex offenses, and white-collar crimes. Her civil case load spanned issues involving the Clean Water Act, Equal Protection and Due Process challenges, Second Amendment claims, § 1983 actions, complex commercial disputes, class actions, WARN Act claims, Fair Labor Standards Act, and the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act.
Sarah has the skills to play an important role in all phases of litigation, from legal research and motion practice to trial.
Outside of the office, Sarah enjoys playing tennis and cheering on the West Virginia Mountaineers and Florida Gators.
