Joseph H. "Joe" Bucci is Counsel practicing with the Business Law practice group, focusing primarily on commercial litigation. He practices out of the Firm's office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Joe has quite the colorful history having attended law school at night while being a project engineer on two $100M+ high-rise, ground-up construction projects. He started his career as an apprentice steamfitter and rose to journeyman steam fitter, working with the tools in the HVAC and mechanical contracting business. Joe has worked as an estimator, project engineer, construction manager, mechanical/electrical coordinator, a designer/builder, and then in-house counsel for a major general construction company. You might say he knows the tools of the trade "from the ground up."
Joe has experience providing clients with guidance in construction law; government contracting; private contracting; architectural/engineering law matters; surety law; marine construction; energy law; wind farms on land and at sea; solar farms; pipeline projects; road, bridge, and heavy highway; infrastructure; industrial/manufacturing facilities; healthcare facilities; educational facilities; real estate development; site development and underground utilities; residential construction and housing developments; dispute resolution; arbitration/mediation; corporate matters; business succession planning; employment law; and corporate matters. He administers OSHA matters; implements dispute resolution procedures; presents and resolves claims for equitable adjustments and engages in mediation; arbitration; and litigation proceedings. Joe serves as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, a mediator for the U.S. District Court of Western Pennsylvania, and an arbitrator for the Allegheny County Bar Association's Construction Dispute Resolution Group. He also offers his services as a private arbitrator or mediator to those in the construction, engineering, oil and gas, energy, and real estate development fields.
Joe earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in business administration and management from the University of Pittsburgh. He earned his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law, where he is an Adjunct Professor at the Law School.
In his free time, Joe enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, attending musical performances, wine making, and traveling. He even tries to sneak in a game of bocce when given the chance.
